CHI Memorial is a not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare organization dedicated to the healing ministry of the Church. Founded in 1952 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and strengthened as part of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), CHI Memorial offers a continuum of care to include preventative, primary and acute hospital care, cardiac, cancer, orthopedic, imaging, and many other services. The system is composed of 2 acute care hospitals, CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga and CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson, and offsite locations.
Reporting to the CHI FM Regional Operations Director, with a dotted line locally to the COO and CFO, the Executive Director of Support Services will provide executive leadership and oversight to the following departments:
- Clinical Engineering
- Public Safety/Security
- Nutrition Services
- EOC Chair
This position is responsible for program quality evaluation, financial performance, personal recruitment, training & development, communications/reporting, and customer satisfaction.
The Executive Director will provide oversight for CHI Memorial Hospital Chattanooga, CHI Memorial Hospital Hixson, and offsite locations. Each hospital has recently undergone significant infrastructure and aesthetic upgrades, and the system received CON approval to move from 405 to 475 licensed beds. The position has 6 direct reports and more than 300 indirect reports.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree with a preference in Business, Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, along with 10 years of progressive leadership experience, with a minimum 5 years experience in hospital maintenance and/or medical equipment operations and management. A Master’s degree preferred.
The candidate must demonstrate financial and operational management skills. Certified Healthcare Facility Manger (CHFM) is required.
