Schneider Regional Medical Center is a healthcare system comprised of three facilities providing services to the residents of the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean. SRMC is the umbrella entity for three US Virgin Islands' facilities and includes:
- The Roy Lester Schneider Hospital, a 169 bed acute care hospital located in St. Thomas, serving nearby St. John and St. Croix, as well as 1.2 million visitors annually;
- The Myrah Keating Community Health Center, located in St. John, providing 24-hour outpatient care for both primary and preventative health services;
- The Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Institute, providing comprehensive cancer care in a fully patient centered facility. More information can be found at www.rlshospital.org
Under general direction this classification develops, implements and oversees the building maintenance and repair of the facility. The individual is responsible for the quality of workmanship on all buildings and building equipment repairs/maintenance, renovation and/or construction. Supervision is exercised over lead workers facilitating and performing building maintenance. The incumbent needs to employ a diverse set of skills and have the ability to resolve any kind of issue at any time.
The Director reports to the Vice President of Facilities Management. Duties are performed according to the general policies approved by the Vice President of Facilities Management, who evaluates work on the basis of results achieved. The position supports the Vice President in planning, and outlining goals and objectives for the facility’s on-going operability and assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position. The successful candidate will be cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and the Maintenance Department.
The successful candidate will minimally possess an Associate’s Degree, or equivalent, with 2 to 4 years of healthcare experience. A current Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) designation is highly desirable.
