Lawrence + Memorial (L+M) Hospital is a non-profit, 280-bed general and acute care hospital providing patient care to medical, surgical, pediatric, psychiatric and obstetrical patients in southeastern Connecticut since 1912. Westerly Hospital is a 125-bed hospital that provides a wide array of medical, surgical, laboratory and rehabilitative services. The delivery network is also an important health care provider for the residents of Fishers Island, New York, and Washington County, Rhode Island. Specialty areas include southeastern Connecticut's only Newborn Intensive Care Unit, a Wound and Hyperbaric Center. L+M offers cardiac acute, step-down and rehabilitation programs and is the only eastern Connecticut hospital that performs emergency and elective angioplasty. Westerly Hospital is a 125-bed hospital that provides a wide array of medical, surgical, laboratory and rehabilitative services to patients in southwestern Rhode Island. The delivery network is also an important health care provider for the residents of Fishers Island, New York.
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, The Director of Facilities provides the overall strategic direction, directs day-to-day operations oversight to ensure the long term advancement and durability of the Hospital's facilities and infrastructure. Responsibilities include all aspects of facilities operations and compliance, as well as oversight of utilities performance and engineering services. This position is responsible for facilities operations at L+M Hospital and Westerly Hospital, as well as the hospitals’ off-campus facilities and the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut.
With the support of 25 FTE’s. the position is responsible for organizing, coordinating, directing and evaluating all aspects of the organization's facilities management and plant operations including consultant and contractor engagements, budgeting, labor, supplies, and other related tasks. The Director must also establish and maintain effective working relationships with operational leadership to insure ongoing compliance. The Director also maintains a reporting relationship with the Yale New Haven Health System Corporate Facilities Division and the Executive Director of Plant Engineering & Utilities.
